Be good to yourself...

Be good to yourself...

Fallen to the ground
It seems like I'm whole again
What can they do
I've learnt to take it
If only I knew then
The world is turning night and day
So love let it shine away
Reach out and touch the sun
Reach out and feel again
You've gotta reach out
Again
This situation,
Coming to the end
Now the light is back again

Touch the sun....

Come, touch the sun...

Fallen to the ground
It seems like I'm whole again
What can they do
I've learnt to take it
If only I knew then
The world is turning night and day
So love let it shine away
Reach out and touch the sun
Reach out and feel again
You've gotta reach out
Again
This situation,
Coming to the end
Now the light is back again

Making plans for tomorrow?

Do you have plans for Valentine's Day?
Maybe a nice evening out, a quiet dinner at home or going out with friends?

Still enough time to make some red velvet whoopie cookies: {http://bluedreamsrevisited.blogspot.ca/2011/02/red-velvet-whoopie-pies.html}

Getting in the mood...before Valentine's Day

In a sentimental mood...before Valentine's Day

in a sentimental mood...
"In a sentimental mood
I can see the stars come through my room
While your loving attitude
Is like a flame that lights the gloom
On the wings of every kiss
Drifts a melody so strange and sweet
In this sentimental bliss
You make my paradise complete
Rose petals seem to fall
It's all I could dream to call you mine
My heart's a lighter thing
Since you made this night a thing divine
In a sentimental mood
I'm within a world so heavenly
For I never dreamt that you'd be loving sentimental me"

Warning: "Comfortable " Spring Shoes Can Be Bad for Your Feet

By Deborah Wilburn

Those fancy flip-flops might be hurting your feet.
Spring is here, and so are chic ballet flats, flip-flops, and sky-high platform sandals. They're comfortable shoes, and trendy, too, but are they good for your feet?
Not so much, says Dawn Olsen Figlo, MD, a certified foot surgeon in New York City. Even though many women think flats are a foot-friendly alternative, "ballet slippers are the worst shoe anyone can wear," she says. "There's no support whatsoever and the ankle can turn in too much or turn out."

Easy fix for foot pain

Does that rule out flip-flops, too? "It's not great to be in a super-flat shoe," says Figlo. "It overstretches the plantar fascia -- the tissue that covers the bottom of the foot -- and can cause plantar fasciitis, which is an inflammation of that tissue." In terms of flip-flops, "the cheap ones with a flimsy strap and no support throw your body off [balance]," she says. Your toes need to grip the shoe in order to keep it on, which strains your foot.
Her recommendation for footwear that won't hurt your feet? Anything with a heel no higher than 2 inches. "If you must wear heels, alternate them each day with a lower shoe with a little arch that provides support," says Figlo.

Destress with a soothing foot massage
Trendy shoes that Figlo does like? Platforms. "You do lose some stability, but as far as the foot biomechanics go, they're not so bad because the front of the foot is lifted as well."
Shoes on her forever thumbs-down list? "Pointy-toed shoes are horrible," Figlo declares. Whether they're high-heeled or low, pointy-toed shoes cause toes to curl in, which leads to painful (and unattractive) bunions and hammertoes.

Find the best walking shoe
One final footwear tip: Spray your shoes daily with antifungal spray. "There's a high incidence of athlete's foot infections in the summer since you're sweating in your shoes and not wearing socks," Figlo says. "Fungus thrives in dark, moist environments. " And for the pedicure-obsessed: "Don't fool with the cuticle. It's the seal that protects the toes from fungus and bacteria. If you break that seal you expose your feet to toe nail fungus and other problems."

Supermodels without photoshop

By Joanna Douglas, Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor | Fashion

Photoshop and airbrushing scandals grow less shocking by the day, but we are always super excited to see unretouched photos. It's satisfying to see what celebrities and models really look like! The photo at the left was taken last weekend in St. Barth's during a photo shoot for Glamour's June issue. From left to right we have Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, plus-size model Crystal Renn, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Brooklyn Decker.

Of course makeup artists and celeb hair stylist Ted Gibson were on hand to help beautify the ladies, but this photo has not been airbrushed at all.

Do you think women would feel better about themselves if photos were not retouched, and we were able to see celebrities and models as their true undoctored selves? [WWD][Fashionindie]

*For the record, I just want to clarify that Crystal Renn is a size 12, and that is what the modeling industry--not myself--labels as plus-size.

Five fashion mistakes that age you

We know that wearing too much makeup and not updating your hairstyle can make you look older. But there are also certain fashion choices that can add years to your look. The good news is that such missteps are easily remedied. Watch this episode for the style choices to avoid and our more youthful styling suggestions.

NO to: A loose-fitting pencil skirt
The whole point of a pencil skirt is to look polished and slyly sexy. We count it as a wardrobe staple, but not if yours doesn't fit properly and looks more like a frumpy, boxy table skirt. A quick trip to the tailor can take care of this problem. Make sure the hem sits at (not below) the knee and the skirt fits snugly at the hips. Wear it with a tucked-in shirt to show off your waist.
NO to: Matching shoes and handbag
Your grandma probably told you about this "rule" because when she was in her stylistic prime that's how ladies turned it out. Today, we'd put it in the same category as matching your lipstick to your manicure or wearing coffee-colored pantyhose. DON'T DO IT! The modern view is to create fresh pairings that make people think, "Wow, I never thought that would go together, but it looks fantastic!"
NO to: Twinsets:
You should be suspicious of anything that's a set. Twinsets lack imagination and personality and can be put in the same category as "mom jeans" -- which means, "I've given up on style." Instead, go with a printed shirt under a cardigan or a striped sweater over a simple, solid tank.
NO to: Chunky heels:
Especially low ones. If you're wearing these for comfort, that's no excuse because there are many different types of heels in fashion right now, such as kitten heels, wedges, and platforms. You're sure to find something that provides stability and style.
NO to: Oversized, tailored men's shirt:
Can we get you some Reebok high tops with that? Maybe some leg warmers? Baggy button-downs give the impression that you're trying to hide your body. Go for a menswear-inspired fabric, if that's the look you love, but choose a shirt that's tailored with seams and darts to accentuate the positive.

And now my question is: Do you agree with the above advices??

Style Tips From Sex And The City

Twelve years ago Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda strutted onto our TV screens and forever meshed feminism and style. Take a look back on some of those beauty moments from Season I to the big screen. (By Rose L. Thayer)
How It All Began
It all began back in 1998 with Carrie's crispy curls, white eyeliner, and those awkward interviews during each episode — nothing could stop women everywhere from being captivated by her (and her friends') trials and tribulations! Let's journey through some of the looks we've loved — and loved to hate — from Season 1 right through the Sex and the City sequel. Bring on the hats, shoes, halter tops, and hair dos and don'ts!

Classic Charlotte

Count on Charlotte to always be put-together, conservative, and simply elegant. Her style is the epitome of the classic American look, ripped straight from the pages of a Ralph Lauren catalog. Whether she's working at her art gallery, attending singles' night at a synagogue, or chasing around two children and a nanny, Charlotte never falters in her dress — or her morals.

The Ever-Evolving Carrie

No matter how you feel about the insane outfits Carrie has worn throughout the years (which change as often as she and Mr. Big break up), you can't deny that she pulls them off with her trademark je ne sais quoi. Who else could travel to Paris in such a clichéd Parisian hat and make it look so chic and effortless, or sport a petticoat and Dior fashions in the Arabian Desert? But, hey, how many of us, given the body, budget, and opportunity, can really say we wouldn't do the same?

That Is So Samantha

Samantha is a woman who knows what she wants and knows who she is. She keeps her look the same — bangs, blond hair, and hot man candy by her side — but plays it up with trendy outfits, Birkin bags, and sparkling, treading-on-gaudy jewelry.

No-Nonsense Miranda

Thank goodness Miranda's tough lawyer look wears off as the show continues. Everything about early Miranda is harsh, from her super-dark, slicked back red hair to the no-nonsense way she handles the men in her life. Before Steve, who knew she even had a soft side?

Series Finale

By the close of the series in 2004, all the women are looking their best. They have really found their groove — in their lives and in their styles. Miranda especially is dramatically and beautifully transformed by the final season. Her highlighted, layered bob softens her overall appearance, and gone is the buttoned-up, no-frills fashion sense of the earlier episodes.

The Fab Four Today

Twelve years later, these four women still look amazing — you could say they're like fine wine! And judging by the box office numbers for their latest film, it seems that America is still madly in love. We'll stay tuned for Sex and the City: The Golden Years!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Winter is officially here! For those of us who like to bundle up, and put few layers on, this is it! It's the season of fluffy, fuzzy and warm all sorts of coats and sweaters. I would like to bring some great ideas of winter pieces...

In today's world there are great fur imitations, if you prefer. But what to do with your old real fur coats, if you've had them from your mom or grandma?

Enjoy your winter! I will...

Sexiest Woman Alive

What makes a woman truly sexy? The criteria are up for debate, but what we do know is that Minka Kelly stands out. She's Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive of 2010.

So what makes Minka so sexy? Yes, the former Friday Night Lights star is gorgeous, but it's the way she does things. Things all of us do, like growing up, tackling a career, and getting older. It seems that the way a woman plays her cards — rather than simply which cards she's been dealt — is what truly makes her sexy. (Check out last year's Sexiest Woman Alive.)

What Is Sexy: Staying Positive
Growing up, Minka didn't have much. She was raised by a single mom and they moved a lot. They had very little money. Resourcefulness and love got them through some rough years.

"My mom lived a fast life," she says now. "It was all about what we could do to have fun with nothing. She — for most of my life, she was a dancer. An exotic dancer. She was a stripper. Um, so she would come home at like three, four o'clock in the morning, and sometimes she would have a really great night, and so she would wake me up in the middle of the night and we'd go to Ralphs and go grocery shopping. And that was so much fun. We'd have the whole grocery store to ourselves, and we would have a blast and buy ahundred dollars in groceries. And it was just the best day ever. The bestday."

What Is Sexy: Loving Yourself the Way You Are

Minka got the job working as a scrub nurse after high school in Los Angeles. On a test shoot for a modeling agency, the makeup person, a former PlayboyPlaymate, approached Minka with an idea. She said she wanted to manage Minka and turn her into a Playmate of the Year. Minka was nineteen. The woman got her a job answering phones at a surgeon's office, the idea being that Minka would work enough hours to get free breast implants. The procedure was already on the calendar when Minka decided she liked herself the way she was and called it off. Her manager had her fired from answering phones — but Minka, having gotten to know the scrub nurses in the office, asked about becoming one. She went to school for a year and became a surgeon's assistant.

But her acting career is a whole other story. Find out how she got her break.

What Is Sexy: Aging with Confidence

Growing older is one thing. But aging with confidence? Some would say it's a total turn-on. Minka is newly 30, a big birthday, we point out.

"It is a big one, and I love it. I think it's the most exciting birthday I think I've ever had. I'm so excited to be a woman. Done with the twenties. I'm confident — confident in my skin, and I'm cool with my flaws and all that stuff. It just feels nice to be at peace with yourself. I think my thirtieth birthday gave me permission to have all that. The twenties were a pain in the ass — figuring it all out. What am I doing? Where do I go?"
And when we ask what's in store for her thirties, she responds, "I don't know. And I'm glad I don't know."
What do you think makes a woman sexy?

Pastels for Old Girls

STYLE IS TIMELESS. Indeed! Look at those old ladies....
These old girls are so cute. I think we all should wear pastels when we get old, older… in old folks home. Life would be much more pleasant to see candy colours all day long…..

My Third Page added now

Yesterday I have decided to create a separate page for Shop My Closet story... Dedicated mostly to my fabulous girlfriends. I will try to keep it updated regularly — you know how much I love shopping for clothes/fashion, probably as much as designing graphics on my Apple :)

Fashion fades, only style remains the same.

Coco Chanel once said: Fashion fades, only style remains the same. I am so fascinated by Venetian Carnival, where style remains for centuries....
